Three paintings by Norman Rockwell sold at Sotheby’s for a total of nearly $57.8 million

The painting Tilted  ”Saying Grace” was one of the Top sellers! This painting sold on Wednesday Dec, 4 2013   for a whopping  $ 46 Million! Making it the highest price ever paid for a painting at an American art auction. New York’s  Manhattan Auction house sold this artwork to  Sotheby’s Art Director , Ms. Goldberg who won the bid for her unidentified client. See Artwork below :
  • 1.Norman Rockwell’s “Saying Grace” appeared on the cover of the Saturday Evening Post on Nov. 24, 1951

  • 2.“The Gossips” ran on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post on March 6, 1948. 

                   This Amazing piece  “The Gossips,” was sold  for $8.45 million.

3.Rockwell based “Walking to Church” on a Vermeer painting, “The Little Street.”

The third painting Titled   “Walking to Church,” sold for $3.2 million to Rick Lapham, an American paintings dealer.
The Artworks entered the hands of the Sotheby’s auction house this fall, until now the paintings  had been on loan to the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stock bridge, Mass., for the past 18 years.
